Death In Vegas’ third album Scorpio Rising is a widescreen collision of experimental beats, psychedelic textures and classic guitar rock. The record features guest appearances from Liam Gallagher, Hope Sandoval and Paul Weller, alongside striking string arrangements by Indian violinist and composer Dr. Subramaniam Lakshminarayana. The album’s centrepiece is the title track, sung by Gallagher, which cheekily reworked Status Quo’s 1967 hit ‘Pictures of Matchstick Men’ with the full blessing of Francis Rossi.
