Returning with the follow-up to 2016's For All Kings, New York City thrash metal pioneers (and Big Four alumni alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer) - Anthrax deliver their first full-length in a decade with Cursum Perficio. Marking only the second time since the release of 2004's The Greater of Two Evils not to feature a line-up change between albums, the integral, signature line-up of vocalist Joey Belladonna, guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante all remain on top of their game. Though the band have insisted this won't be their last record, regardless of the translation of this new album's Latin title literally meaning "My journey has come to an end", "My journey is over" or "I complete my journey," if they sound this proficient in their 60s, maybe there's no need to worry about a dip in quality. From the tasty drumfills, to the breakneck thrash grooves to Belladonna's signature cadence and impressive range still on full display across standouts like 'It's For the Kids' and 'Everybody's Got a Plan', Scott Ian has even recently boasted that he considers 'The Edge of Perfection' as "the greatest Anthrax song in the history of Anthrax." We'd even go so far as to say Cursum Perficio could be considered one of the strongest Big Four thrash albums to be released this century.
