Independents’ Day UK is a campaign that exists to support and promote independent retail businesses across the UK all year round, but with an annual focus around July 4th: this year across a full weekend, on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2rd July. We are very lucky here in Mold to have so many small independent shops and business's so it is something worth celebrating, Independents account for something in the order of 65% of the approximately 290,000 retail outlets in the UK and are at the heart of local communities throughout the country.

Many shops including our own do not currently open in Mold on a Sunday but we will be open on Saturday 1st. Sunday opening is something that may come back for consideration at some point, it seems to work better as a collective effort by local stores to open together.
